Melamine, commonly known as protein essence, molecular formula C3H6N6, is a triazine nitrogen-containing heterocyclic organic compound.

It is white monoclinic crystals, almost odorless, slightly soluble in water (3.1g/L at room temperature), soluble in methanol, formaldehyde, acetic acid, hot glycol, glycerin, pyridine, etc., but insoluble in acetone and ethers.

Application

The main raw material for the manufacture of melamine-formaldehyde resin, used as an organic element analysis reagent, and also used in the synthesis of organic and resin as a tanning agent and filler in leather processing.

Operation Precautions

1. Airtight operation, full exhaust.
2. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by the operating procedures.
3. It is recommended that operators wear self-priming filter dust respirators, chemical safety glasses, protective clothing and rubber gloves.
4. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with oxidants and acids.
5. When handling, load and unload with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers.
6. Factory must equip with leakage emergency treatment equipment.

Storage Precautions

1. It should be stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse.

2. Keep away from fire and heat sources.

3. It should be stored separately from oxidants and acids, and avoid mixed storage.

4.  The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain the leakage.
